Insomniac Games has released a new teaser trailer for Resistance 2. Titled ‘It Begins,’ the trailer is said to disclose hints about the story direction of Resistance 2. Resistance 2 is scheduled to be released this fall.

In a post on SCEA’s PlayStation blog, Insomniac Games confirmed that they are play-testing 60 player multiplayer and eight-player co-op daily as well as tweaking sections of the single player levels.

Insomniac Games announced that the next trailer and worldwide game play footage will debut on the 13th of June. It will debut exclusively on GameTrailers TV with Geoff Keighley and is a full episode covering the game. Stay tuned because more details were promised before then. Questions answered

Steven Stevenson answered some gamers’ questions on the blog. In response to a question regarding voice chat, Stevenson confirmed that the game divides you into squads in the 60 player campaign. He did not confirm whether it will include a mute option. While he was mum on the new weapons, he promised competitive multiplayer screenshots soon.

He could not confirm whether the game will run at 1080p and/or 60FPS because this normally happens around optimization. It is also too early to say how long it will take to finish the single player campaign and he could not confirm whether the 8 player campaign is shorter or longer but promised a full experience. Stevenson would not comment on Home integration. The trailer will be available via the PlayStation Store either this Thursday or next week Thursday.

The game detailed

Resistance 2 sees players once again stepping into the role of Sgt. Nathan Hale as mankind make a stand against the Chimera on the shores of the United States. Hale must battle against the Chimera and at the same time struggle against the virus that threatens to transform him into one of the creatures.

The game features an 8 player, class based online co-op campaign which is a separate story driven campaign to the 60 player online competitive multiplayer and the single player campaign. Resistance 2 features new weapons to face giant bosses in large scale conflict across various US environments as well as community features and support.
