Sony of Japan has announced that it will be releasing two microphone products for the PSP. The Single Pack, including one microphone, will retail at 2 500 yen (including tax) while the Twin Pack will include two microphones and will retail at 4 000 yen (including tax). Both the products were originally due for release in January but will now become available on the 19th of March.
The system software update scheduled for the 18th of March will also make Skype features available. PSP users will be able to connect the microphone to the PSP and communicate with other Skype users around the world via the internet for free. PSP users will be able to communicate with land and mobile phone lines as well.
Please note that the Microphones can be used on both the PSP-1000 and the PSP-2000, however, the Skype feature will only be available on the PSP-2000. To make use of the Skype feature on the PSP with this microphone, PSP users will need a Skype account, Memory Stick Duo, internet connection and headphones. The microphone can also be used for Talkman for PSP.
Sony also announced a new Matte Bronze PSP Value Pack and Cradle with Remote Control.
