Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed for the PC will be launching at the end of March.
Titled Assassin’s Creed: Director’s cut edition, the PC version will feature new exclusive side missions including four new types of investigations. Assassin’s Creed is set in 1191 AD and sees you stepping into the shoes of Assassin Altair as you attempt to stop The Third Crusade hostilities in The Holy Land by suppressing both sides of the conflict.
“We are thrilled to bring Assassin’s Creed to an eager PC audience and we anticipate the game will resonate with them just has it has across the other platforms,” said John Parkes, EMEA Marketing Director at Ubisoft. “Assassin’s Creed is a game that must be experienced firsthand to fully understand how dynamic and meaningful this title has become for video game fans worldwide.”
The game is already out on the Xbox 360 and PS3 with over 5 million copies of the console versions being sold worldwide since its release in November last year.
The Xbox 360 version met with critical acclaim worldwide and according to NPD data was rated number 5 on the Top Ten Software Sales for December 2007 in the United States and number 9 on the Top Ten Software Sales for 2007 in the US.
Assassin’s Creed Altaïr’s Chronicles, a Nintendo DS exclusive, is scheduled to hit shelves this month. It is a prequel to the console version of Assassin’s Creed.
