Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe
Resident Evil 0 coming to Wii

A remake of Resident Evil 0 is headed to the Wii this summer, but the game will only be released in Japan. Since the Resident Evil series is known as Biohazard in Japan, the game will actually be called Biohazard 0, but I suppose that is being pedantic.

Resident Evil 0 will be a port of the original GameCube version and will feature Billy Coen and Rebecca Chambers as the main characters. Just like Capcom’s recently ported Wii version of Resident Evil 4, the game will feature use of the Wii Remote.

Speculation that this title exists was quelled on the Capcom forums when Christian Svensson, Capcom’s Vice President of Strategic Planning and Business Development stated “Yes, this title exists… for Japan. There are no plans for a Western release for the title at this time.”

Let’s hope that it contains some extra content or else you may as well pop your GameCube version into your Wii and play it using backwards compatibility. Hold thumbs that widescreen support will be added as well.

Here is a scan from Japanese magazine Famitsu with the first information about the game. Capcom has yet to officially announce it.

Ouji-S@n,

I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but if you're questioning the accuracy of the report, all it's saying is that Famitsu have said it's coming, and that Capcom's Vice President of Strategic Planning and Business Development has confirmed it for Japan. Even if he only did so on a forum, it's the same as if he said it in a news briefing.

You will also find, due to the nature of the story, and the possibility of the information not all being entirely correct (translations, the chance that Famitsu are speculating, which is highly unlikely, etc), that it is omitted from our official news feed. Nevertheless, it is interesting for gamers, and worth reporting about.
