Warashi’s vertical scrolling shooter Triggerheart Exelica lands on Xbox Live Arcade this week. It will cost 800 Microsoft Points.
An upgraded version of the original Japanese arcade game, Triggerheart Exelica sees players controlling Triggerhearts, humanoid weapons systems with a human-like personality, to capture enemies.
Only the Triggerheart Exelica and Crueltear can destroy the enemy Ver’mith. While each weapon has a different combat style, both can be used to perform unique anchor shots. The Triggerhearts can be used to anchor an enemy ship, capture it and either use it as a shield or throw it back into the battle to cause damage.
The newest model of Triggerhearts, which also happen to be the smallest, feature a commanding arsenal blended with AI and are perfect for attacking the enemy ships of Ver’mith.
The game features five stages of enhanced graphics, new background music and three difficulty levels. The Variable Boss Attack System means that players of any skill can enjoy the game. The difficulty level is adjusted to match the player’s skills so the bosses will be easier to defeat if you have a low score but more challenging if your score is higher.
