Over 500 00 DSi units have been sold in Japan during the launch month of November.
According to the latest numbers from Enterbrain, Japanese gamers have bought 535 379 DSi’s since the new console launched on the 1st of November. This brings the total sales of the DS (including the DS, DS Lite and DSi) to more than 24 million units in Japan.
The DSi introduced two digital cameras, one pointing towards the user and another on the outside, as well as larger screens and an SD memory card. The front slot for GBA cartridges was removed thus the console is no longer backwards compatible and games requiring certain peripherals, such as Guitar Hero: On Tour, cannot be played.
Don’t expect to see the DSi in European or North American stores until the first half of 2009.
