UK Charts: Chart Track software sales for the week ending 29/11

Despite Call of Duty: World at War’s sales decreasing by 30% since last week, it still manages to keep its No. 1 position on the UK sales charts - the third week in a row! What makes this achievement even more admirable is the fact that eight of the titles listed in the Top Ten have experienced increases in sales since last week. Let’s see how much longer World at War can last up there…

Need for Speed: Undercover climbs from No. 4 last week to No. 2 thanks to a 35% sales increase, while Fifa ’09, despite an increase of 12% in sales, drops one place, from No.2 to No. 3 this week. Mario Kart Wii also drops a place, from No. 3 to No. 4, again despite a sales rise of 17%. Dr. Kawashima’s Brain Training, on the other hand, jumps up one place to reach No. 5 from No. 6 last week, on the back of a 28% sales swell.

A 21% rise in sales helps Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 leap from No. 8 last week to No. 6, while Tomb Raider: Underworld enjoys a similar jump, moving from No. 9 to No. 7 this week, aided by a sales increase of 12%. Two more two place jumpers are Wii Play at No. 8 (3% sales increase) and Guitar Hero: World Tour at No. 9 (1% sales decrease), from No. 10 and No. 11 respectively, while a debut title, Resistance 2, rounds out the Top Ten (despite Resistance 2 selling through two-thirds less than the original on launch week).

Other interesting movement on the chart this week includes Wii Fit dropping from No. 5 last week to No. 12 this week (probably stock shortage), Carnival: Funfair Games moving up five places, from No. 20 to No. 15, Gears of War 2 continuing to slip further from the coveted Top Ten, moving from No. 14 to No. 17 this week, Football Manager 2009 slipping a long way to No. 18 from No. 7 last week, Sega Superstars Tennis making a massive leap from No. 37 to No. 24, Project Gotham Racing 4 doing something similar by moving from No. 40 to No. 26 this week, Far Cry 2 managing a rebound moving from No. 38 last week to No. 28, Left 4 Dead sliding to No. 34 from No. 15 last week and Mirror’s Edge continuing to fall, now at No. 39 from No. 28 last week.
