For the next several hours (if calculations are to be trusted) the new PlayStation Home Beta will be down for maintenance. From the US PlayStation Blog:
“Sony Computer Entertainment will conduct system maintenance for PlayStation Home on Thursday, December 18, 2008. At this time PlayStation Home will be updated from ver. 1.03 to 1.04.”
“The system maintenance is scheduled to start at 12 midnight (PST), and the service is expected to resume in approximately 6 hours but may change depending on the circumstances. PlayStation Home will be unavailable during the maintenance window.”
Reasons for the maintenance are said to be as a result of “high demand for the service,” which has caused problems for prospective Home users, specifically connecting to the service. The version 1.04 patch will also temporarily suspend the ability to use voice chat. PR Manager Abigail Murphy says:
“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you and kindly ask for your understanding.”
