Nintendo of America has launched Club Nintendo, a special club for North American Nintendo fans.
Club Nintendo offers rewards to members who register their Nintendo games and hardware or completing various surveys. Sign up at Club Nintendo.com and register your Nintendo products to earn coins which can be exchanged for cool goodies.
Currently you can choose from an exclusive Game & Watch Collection, White DS Game Card Case, Mario Party and Animal Crossing Playing Cards, Mario DS Game Rack, Silver DS Lite Case or Wii Remote Holder.
Club Nintendo members who register a new Wii or DS can extend the product warranty by completing a survey. You can also reach Gold and Platinum status by collecting a certain amount of coins each year – this will enable you to receive exclusive rewards.
Club Nintendo is already available in various other territories, each with their own unique Nintendo rewards.
“Club Nintendo gives fans what they want - access to exclusive rewards for their loyalty to our brand and our products,” said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America Inc.’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “We’re offering some unique items as a way to say thanks for their support of Nintendo.”

Boo! Drat them for offering a sodding poor Club Nintendo here in this part of the world. "Yes, South Africa! We're gonna offer you WALLPAPER! Cos you're a backward country that doesn't deserve anything nice, not like the stuff we're offering other countries! So up yours, South Africa! Enjoy the crappy wallpapers!"
Ha-ha! I don't think the conversation went down quite like that, but they're probably just thinking about their core markets and plan on increasing their presence here in the future.
Haven't there been Japanese and European Nintendo clubs for years? Only now does North America (a huge market) get a similar service, so I guess other countries are on the list for expansion, only South Africa isn't near the top...
In all fairness to Nintendo of SA, we did have Club Nintendo here before it launched in the US, regardless of what is currently available. I think it's great when we are ahead of the US with regards to launches, kind of like Wii Fit.
