If you haven’t yet done so, head down to Gateway in Durban to check out Nintendo Week. The Nintendo Team have been in Durban since Tuesday and the good news is that the show will run until Sunday the 14th of December.
The Nintendo stand is located just below the cinemas at Gateway, if you somehow miss the hub of Wii and DS activity then look for the gigantic Christmas tree and you will be there.
The stand has various Wii games set up for you to try out, including Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Mario Kart Wii, Mario Strikers Charged and Wii Fit. There is also a stage where you can put your Wii Sports skills in the spotlight or participate in numerous competitions with great prizes up for grabs.
You can also try out some DS classics including Mario Kart DS, Nintendogs, Metroid Prime Hunters or 42 All Time Classics. You can even amble through the small Apple part of the stand and check out the latest gadgets from Apple. If you find something you like you can buy the latest games or even a Wii or DS console straight from the stand – there is a Dion Wired section to make your Christmas shopping that much easier.

Mario and Luigi will also be making guest appearances three times a day so forget Santa Claus and get a picture snapped with these famous Nintendo characters instead! Members of the Nintendo Team will be available on the stand between 9am and 10pm each day to answer any questions and help you out with the games.

Here’s the timetable of what’s happening every day. There are some great competitions with awesome prizes so make sure you don’t miss out on the action. You stand a chance to win cool coloured wrist straps for your Wii Remote as well as three great Wii games given away daily in the Mario Kart Wii tournament.
