Have you ever wanted to play all of your favourite SEGA Mega-Drive games from one, ‘Ultimate Collection’? If the answer was yes, you’ll soon be able to pick up the SEGA Mega-Drive Ultimate Collection for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
The collection comprises the best first-party SEGA games from the Mega-Drive era, as well as some bonus games from SEGA’s Master System and 80’s arcades, accounting for over 40 games. The list includes the likes of Sonic the Hedgehog 1, 2 and 3, Columns, Alien Storm, Ecco the Dolphin, Space Harrier and Streets of Rage 1, 2 and 3. That’s ten right there!
The games have also been brought up to date and “have been reproduced with the utmost detail and accuracy to commend their originals,” while also being able to output to 720p. The SEGA Mega-Drive Ultimate Collection is set for release in early 2009. More screenshots and a trailer below:

Comments:
Mind you, you can also either a) hang onto old consoles, or b) run the games on one of over 3 dozen million emulators for almost every single platform available :)
You could, but then how are SEGA going to make money from those activities?! I recommend everybody buys at least 20 of the Ultimate Collection each. Give SEGA some money!
;)
