The Nintendo DSi continued its domination of the Japanese hardware chart for the week ending the 16th of November. The third iteration of the Nintendo DS handheld sold 85 327 units, twice as many as the nearest competitor, Sony’s PSP. Together the DS Lite and DSi sold 88 886 units, down from last week’s 113 278.
The PSP sold 38 153 units this week to hold on to second place, also dropping in sales from last week’s 43 726. The Wii came third with 26 787 units, the only console to record an increase in sales this week. The PS3 sold 17 448 units, dropping marginally by roughly 1000 units this week, followed by the Xbox 360 with 7 983 units, which experienced dropped quite substantially from last week’s 12 759 units. The PS2 rounded off the chart with 5 421 units.
