Japanese Sales Data: Media Create software sales for 10/11 – 16/11

The DS remake of the SNES platformer Kirby Super Star, Hoshi no Kirby: Ultra Super Deluxe (known as Kirby Super Star Ultra in the US), tops the Japanese software chart for a second week with 97 000 copies.

Spike’s Samuraidou 3 for the PS3 is the first of six new titles to debut in the Top 10 this week. Samuraidou 3 debuts at number 2 with 81 000 copies while Konami’s Tongari Boushi to Mahou no 365 Nichi for the DS enters the charts at number 3 with 72 000 copies.

At number 4 is Sega’s Fushigi no Dungeon Fuurai no Shiren DS 2: Sabaku no Majou which debuts with 45 000 copies. Sony’s Resistance 2 is new at number 5 with 33 000 copies and becomes the second PS3 title to debut in the Top 10 this week.

The remainder of the Top 10 is occupied by DS titles. DS Nishimura Kyoutarou Suspense 2 Shintantei Series from Tecmo is new at number 6 with 33 000 copies while Capcom’s Ryuusei no Rockman 3: Black Ace debuts at number 7 with 33 000 copies.

Nintendo’s Rhythm Tengoku Gold, a former number 1, is at number 8 this week, still selling well with 30 000 copies. Another Nintendo title, Wagamama Fashion Girls Mode, drops six places into ninth with 30 000 copies and Pokémon Platinum rounds off the Top 10 with 27 000 copies, down from last week’s number 4.

A few titles of interest that have dropped out of the Top 10 this week include Grand Theft Auto IV (down from last week’s number 5 to number 11), Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Spec III (dropping five places to number 14) and LittleBigPlanet (down from number 10 to number 22 in its third week of release).
