Capcom has revealed that Street Fighter IV will be released on the Xbox 360 and PS3 across North America on the 17th of February 2009. European gamers will get their hands on the beat ‘em up a couple of days later on the 20th of February. Both versions will be shipping simultaneously.
The game includes classic characters such as Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li and Guile as well as new characters Crimson Viper, Abel, El Fuerte and Rufus. Although the game is played in classic Street Fighter 2D perspective, characters and environments are rendered in stylized 3D.
Players can also look forward to the return of six-button controls along with new special moves (Focus Attacks, Super Combos and Ultra Combo system) and gameplay features that promise to challenge Street Fighter fans and those new to the series.
