It’s been revealed that the European offices of Vivendi Games Mobile will be closed within days, after it was announced that the Vivendi Games Mobile division would either be realigned or divested, following the Activision/Vivendi merger.
It seems the latter course of action is being taken, after it was announced that the US Vivendi mobile games division was in the process of being shut down, and now the news of the Europeans offices meeting the same fate. This also means it’s likely their big brands on the mobile, such as Crash Bandicoot and Spyro The Dragon, will either be farmed out to external mobile developers, or be discontinued.
This bad news comes on the back of some good news, as it was announced that former triple-A Vivendi/Activision studio, Massive Entertainment, has found a home with Ubisoft.
