Hothead Games has announced that its’ anticipated episodic game series, Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, will debut on Xbox Live Arcade in early 2008. Episodes are set to be released every couple of months.
On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness: Episode one will be the first title in the downloadable series for the Xbox 360. The game is also set to appear on Windows, Mac and Linux.
It is an adventure come RPG that is based on the work of Jerry Holkins and Mike Krahulik. Ron Gilbet (of Monkey Island fame) is also contributing to the project. The entire Penny Arcade Adventure series will be available to download from Xbox Live Arcade as episodes are released.
“We’re very excited to be bringing our game series to Xbox LIVE Arcade,” said Vlad Ceraldi, Hothead’s President. “We love Xbox LIVE Arcade’s ability to deliver great content directly to gamers. Digital distribution lets indie game developers innovate and experiment with new gameplay concepts.”
Although a price has not yet been announced, Ceraldi did confirm that the game would be available for under $20.
