Nintendo releases new Wii update to fix firmware 3 issues

If you have a Wii it should be flashing blue right now because Nintendo have released a new Wii update to fix a few issues that firmware upgrade 3 from last week created. You will notice that after downloading the latest update, the system version is still 3.0 because it just fixed a few minor bugs.

After downloading update 3 some people experienced problems with the Wii’s Opera browser and could no longer connect online on certain channels. Some consoles were locking up when Wii owners used the internet channel and pressed RESET either on the Wii console or within the HOME menu. This update will prevent the Wii from locking up and corrects some internet connection stability issues when using the Wii LAN adapter.

Nintendo’s message about the new Wii update reads as follows:

“A new update for your Wii console is available!

This update will prevent your Wii from locking up, which can occur when using the Internet Channel if you press RESET on either your Wii console or within the HOME Menu. This update also corrects some Internet connection stability issues when using the Wii LAN Adapter from Nintendo.

Please press the Update button on the bottom-right to update your Wii console.”

Thanks Nintendo!
