Nintendo continues 'Month of Metroid' with 2 new Metroid Prime 3: Corruption videos

Last week Nintendo kicked off what it has dubbed to be ‘Month of Metroid.’ It added a free Metroid Prime 3: Corruption preview which contained Nintendo’s first Wii downloadable video trailers with two Metroid Prime 3: Corruption videos. Wii owners would have noticed that after downloading the preview from the Wii Shop, it became its own Wii Menu Channel and featured not a demo but trailers and videos.

It seems that Nintendo really weren’t kidding when they proclaimed August to be a ‘Month of Metroid.’ Metroid become available to download from the Wii Shop Channel yesterday for 500 Wii Points while Super Metroid is being released as a Virtual Console title on the 20th of August for 800 Wii Points. Metroid Prime 3 Corruption is set to be released in the US on the 27th of August and on the 26th of October in Europe.

Metroid madness continues as Nintendo updated the Metroid Prime 3: Corruption channel with two new videos yesterday. The latest two videos are streaming clips so thank your lucky stars you won’t have to go through the download process again.

The first video is titled ‘Aurora’ and basically outlines details of the story as well as background information on the malfunctioning Aurora Unit. Titled ‘Spider Ball,’ the second video is more focused on game play and depicts Samus Aran in her Spider Ball form.

The next two videos, titled ‘P.E.D. Suit’ and ‘Air Assault,’ are set to hit the preview channel this Thursday. If you have not yet done so, you can also check out the initial two videos titled ‘Corruption’ (a general game trailer) and ‘Bridge Fight’(a bridge battle between Samus and Space Pirates) which are still available on the channel.

Currently WiiWare (the new online channel dedicated to promoting upcoming release Metroid Prime 3: Corruption) is only available in the US. Nintendo is using WiiWare to distribute downloadable content on the Wii. This content is not yet available in Europe or Japan.
