Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End has claimed the number 1 spot on the UK All Formats Chart, ending Activision’s Spider-Man 3’s reign by knocking it off the top spot to number 3. In just its second week, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End success brings Disney Interactive Studios its first ever All Formats number 1.

After experiencing an 83% increase in sales on last week, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End becomes the third film tie-in after Spider-Man 3 and TMNT to reach number 1 in the All Formats Chart in the past 8 weeks. It also tops the PS3, PSP and Xbox 360 Charts. Eidos’ highly anticipated Tomb Raider: Anniversary debuts at number 2 but, along with Legend and Angel of Darkness, becomes the third Tomb Raider game to debut at number 1 in the PS2 Full Price Chart.

Nintendo continue to be the most represented publisher in the All Formats Top 10. Mario Strikers Charged Football drops one place to number 4 while Wii Play stays the same at number 6 and Kawashima falls to number 8. 505 Games’ Cooking Mama rises three places to number 7.

The second highest new entry (after Tomb Raider) is Microsoft’s Shadowrun at number 11, the first title to support cooperative online play between PC and Xbox 360 gamers. In its second week of release THQ’s Spongebob & Friends: Volcano Island enters the Top 40 at number 14. Pirates of the Caribbean: Jack Sparrow reenters the Top 40 at number 23, thanks to the budget price and the release of the third title in the Pirates series.
