Action junkies will be happy to know that no less than two arcade action games are set to arrive on Xbox Live Arcade this Wednesday.
Rush’n Attack
Rush’n Attack challenges players to rescue prisoners of war in the enemies’ base. Armed with your knife and any other weapons you might be fortunate enough to discover, players must fight through four increasingly difficult stages to free their compatriots.
Players will be able to experience the original game play of this Konami arcade classic right down to authentic arcade multiplayer with two players taking turns. Players can enjoy multiplayer modes on Xbox Live Arcade multiplayer including versus and co-op. Both your screen and your opponents’ screen will be shown because both modes are split screen. Results will be captured in the Xbox Live Leaderboards.
Rush’n Attack features both retro and enhanced graphics so players can choose to play with the original graphics or with the enhanced graphics which include 3D rendered models. The game also features digitally enhanced music. Players can earn up to 12 achievements.
Xevious
Developed by Namco and released in US arcades in 1982, Xevious is the world’s first vertical scrolling shooter. This single player arcade action game see players fighting to control their Solvalou ship and destroy the Xevious forces using blasters against air-based enemies and bombs against ground-based targets. Watch out for the Andor Genesis mothership because players will earn bonus points if they destroy it. Xevious boasts unique enemies, various scrolling environments, great background music as well as many hidden game play features.
Rush’n Attack and Xevious will both be available on Wednesday at 2 a.m. Pacific Time and will each sell for 400 Microsoft Points. Xevious is rated E for Everyone while only those 10 and older can try their hand at Rush’n Attack.
