Sunday 17 Dec 2006 WarioWare: Smooth Moves for Wii launching in Europe and the US soon “The WarioWare team took an idea so wacky, it could only be made with the latest technology…the Wii Remote.”
Assume ‘The Elephant’ WarioWare: Smooth Moves is the latest in the WarioWare franchise and the follow up to the popular GBA and DS games. Making full use of the Wii Remote, it features over 200 fast paced, action filled microgames and challengers players to sharpen their reactions. If they want to complete the challenges, players must master the Wii Remote in the various positions, ranging from the simple ‘Remote Control’ position to ‘The Elephant’ or ‘The Samurai.’ Players must clear the fast-paced mini-games and learn to manipulate the Wii Remote if they are to move on to the next task. Accuracy becomes all important as the time to complete challenges is whittled down. Players use the Wii Remote for all the stages, with some stages using the Nunchuck to play. “The game’s full-body controls add a whole new level of insanity to an already frenetic experience.” Grandma’s feather bed? Players can look forward to performing bizarre actions, ranging from sautéing vegetables, hula hoping and slotting Grandma’s falsies into her mouth. Players can also expect to steer cars, twirl pizzas, saw logs and dance if they are to emerge victorious. Each game lasts for only a few seconds but be warned they are not all as easy as you would think! Details will fill the screen to both entertain and distract and players can anticipate familiar faces with characters appearances from Super Mario Bros, Nintendogs and Metroid Prime. As in other WarioWare titles the microgames in 9-Volt’s stage are based on classic Nintendo games. Game modes The game features single player as well as multiplayer modes. Players navigate around a map of Diamond City in single player mode and select a character to follow their whacky adventures. Each character has a unique type of game play as well as different microgames. Players can look forward to meeting familiar faces such as Wario, Mona, Jimmy, 9-Volt, Orbulon, Dr Crygor as well as newcomers including Master Mantis, Penny Crygor and Young Cricket who just happens to be a Kung-Fu Trainee. Players select a character and follow the characters story in the microgame, completing various tasks. If they are successful they will unlock additional minigames and multiplayer options featuring the Smooth Moves colourful cast. The game features several multiplayer modes, allowing up to twelve people to play at one time with just one controller! Twelve players can take the challenge in Survival Mode where one wrong move eliminates players from the game or two players can battle it out in Star Nose where one players uses the Wii Remote and the other the Nunchuck to fly a spaceship (shaped like a nose of course!) along a corridor, avoiding obstacles and the walls. Other multiplayer games include Darts, Lifeline, Balloon, Bomb and Bungee Buddies. Players can anticipate spotting their Mii characters in the microgames, so be sure to keep your eyes out for them. The games in WarioWare: Smooth Moves are just as much fun to watch as they are to play so the game is guaranteed to keep the party going for hours! Details WarioWare: Smooth Moves will be launched across Europe on the 12th of January 2007. It will sell for an estimated retail price of 49 Euros (£34). It is due to be released in the US on the 15th of January 2007.

WarioWare: Smooth Moves launches on the Wii across Europe on the 12th of January and on the 15th of January next year. This game will see you and your friends competing in wild and wonderful challenges which we have come to expect from a WarioWare title. It all begins when Wario stumbles into an old building called the Temple of Form while in pursuit of a strange creature which stole his lunch. Inside the temple he discovers a strange device called the Form Baton, which also looks suspiciously like the Wii Remote. Wario soon discovers that the Form Baton gives him special powers depending on his form, that is, the way he holds and moves the baton. Wario takes his new discovery back to Diamond City and teaches his friends new moves using this weird and wonderful device, both wacky and fun!
