Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles ships 1 million

Wednesday 05 Mar 2008

Capcom has announced that Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles has shipped one million units worldwide.

Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles was released for the Wii in November 2007. It is the second Wii game from Capcom to top one million units, the other being Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition, which was released in June 2007. As at the end of February 2008, the Resident Evil series has sold more than 34.5 million units worldwide since the first installment in 1996.

Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles was created specifically for the Wii. Players will explore locations from Resident Evil 0, 1, 2 and 3 as they investigate the back story behind the fall of the Umbrella Corporation. You will recognise familiar locales from the entire series and venture into never-before-seen locations including Umbrella’s stronghold.

The game combines “first-person, light-gun style combat with interactive pathways, multiple weapons and new enemies to create an entirely new Resident Evil experience that could only be delivered on the Wii.” It includes a two-player co-op mode and support for the Wii Zapper.
