Japanese PSPs get Cradle in April (with remote control)

Sony of Japan has announced that it will be releasing a Cradle for the slim PSP in Japan on the 24th of April. It will retail for 4 800 yen (including tax) while the Cradle Pack (including the Cradle and D Terminal AV Cable) will also become available on the 24th of April at 6 500 yen (including tax).

The Cradle will allow PSP users to enjoy entertainment content such as movies, videos and 1 Seg viewing by operating a card type remote control, which will also be supplied. Not only will the Cradle allow you to remotely control your PSP, but it will also charge the battery.

Please note that you will need to have the 1 Seg tuner (sold separately) to enjoy the 1 Seg viewing on the PSP and you will need the AC adaptor and power code (included with the PSP system) to charge the PSP. Also be aware that the Cradle is not compatible for use with the PSP-1000 series, only the PSP-2000 series. PSP users will need PSP system software version 3.90 or later.

Sony also announced a new Matte Bronze PSP Value Pack and Microphone which will include support for Skype.
