EA set to chill gamers with Dead Space

Tuesday 25 Sep 2007

EA has detailed its new sci-fi horror Dead Space. Currently in development by EA Redwood Shores Studio, Dead Space is a third person survival horror that ‘promises to deliver the ultimate in psychological thrills and gruesome action.’

The game is set in deep space and sees players steeping into the role of Isaac Clarke, an engineer on a routine mission to fix communications on a mining ship. Clarke soon discovers that the ship’s crew has been ravaged by an alien infestation and he must now fight through deep space if he hopes to survive.

Darker and creepier

Executive Producer Glen Schofield commented, “This team has worked on some tremendous properties but we have always wanted to work on something that was darker and creepier. We are all such huge fans of the horror and sci-fi genres; we wanted to create the most terrifying game we could, and keep the player on the edge of his seat the entire time.”

Dead Space is being released in fall 2008 for the PS3 and Xbox 360. Head over to the Dead Space official website for a somewhat chilling experience.
