Thursday 01 Mar 2007

Konami announced that it would be launching Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2007 for the Nintendo DS in April. Using the wireless and Wi-Fi capabilities of the DS, players now have the opportunity to play this ever-popular Trading Card Game against friends.

Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship Screenshot 1The official game of the annual Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship Tournament, this DS title is a simulation of the Trading Card Game. Prepare to contruct, organize and duel - all using your stylus! Fans will be happy to know that the Trading Card Game has been faithfully recreated with the DS game including 1600 of the latest cards which allows for more attacks, spell-casting and defending possibilities. Owners of the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Spirit Caller for the DS will be able to trade entire decks between the two games and can access every card in the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Spirit Caller after beginning the game via the game’s card recipe.

Prepare for a wealth of dueling possibilities with a vast array of options for single player duels against various CPU-controlled opponents; limited duels where only certain cards are available; and survival duels where players aim to beat a succession of duelists for as long as possible.

Players can compete with friends or with players from around the world using the wireless and Wi-Fi modes available on the DS. Two players with copies of the game can play wireless games while players can challenge anyone around the world with the Wi-Fi mode. Players can also strengthen their packs by swapping and trading cards using these wireless options. Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2007 supports the Nintendo Wi-Fi’s Voice Chat feature allowing players to chat before each duel. Look out for the three limited edition Yu-Gi-Oh! cards for use in the Trading Card Game.
