Every hour, day and week, El33tonline’s excellent community types up fantastic comments to make their feelings known on the news, reviews, previews, competitions and articles we’ve posted up, while taking time to visit us on Twitter and Facebook to chat with us there, too.
These comments make us here at El33tonline incredibly proud to be a part of this community because not only are they ultra interesting and informative, but they can be hilarious, too!
So over and above our monthly El33t P33p award, we’re going to focus on some of the more notable comments on El33tonline, our Facebook page and over Twitter by doing a weekly round-up of your remarks to us.
We’ll get better and more inclusive in the future, but here’s our very first Collection of Classic Community Comments:
Final Fantasy XIII-2 has broken FIFA 12’s reign at the top of Chart Track’s UK Software Sales this week by claiming the No. 1 position for itself, thus becoming the first new chart topper of 2012 during its debut week on sale.
Have you already forgotten what games you can expect to hit retail and virtual store shelves over the course of this week? Then your memory is just as bad as ours, so it’s a good thing we keep vast lists of these sorts of important details.
Now if only we could find our latest list of worldwide game releases for this week… ah, here it is!
Do you want game trailers? Do you want tons of El33tonline editorials and features? How about some reviews, previews and exciting announcements? Then cast your minds back to last week when we pasted up vast collections of all of these things, plus more, and look over our round-up of videogame news for the week ending February 5th!
Of course, you can look forward to more of this content this week, too, but just in case you missed any of it, here’s what happened last week:
It’s been announced on the Battlefield blog that an expected patch for the PlayStation 3 version of Battlefield 3 is now live, most notably addressing the Voice Over IP (VOIP) issues players have been experiencing.
Reckon you haven’t had a good Double XP Weekend in Call of Duty: Black Ops recently? Well Activision and Treyarch are heading you off at the pass by providing one this week!
We’re celebrating all things PS Vita this month in the run-up to the launch of Sony’s next handheld gaming device on February 22nd, so for this Question of the Day we’re going to focus on (and educate those who don’t know about) the exciting features that the device will introduce by asking:
What is your favourite PS Vita Feature?
It is no secret that I quite adore The Sims. Yes, I groan every time a new expansion is released, but I have to keep up the appearance of a serious games reviewer. And The Sims just does not bode well for a gamer of my caliber.
But the problem with that is the fact that The Sims are simply too addictive to overlook. And if you look at the sales figures for The Sims I can take comfort in knowing I am most certainly not alone in this!

How does winning the game of your choice every month for a year sound? Well I’m sold on the idea, but unfortunately I didn’t win TAKEALOT’s latest gaming competition which offered this dream scenario as the prize.
There’s been plenty of speculation whether Final Fantasy X for PS3 and PS Vita would be a remake or an HD Remaster. Square Enix certainly seemed to imply that it would be a full-blown remake when the game was announced in September 2011 at a PlayStation Vita conference held in Japan.
3DS games are not much cheaper than their console counterparts yet most of the time they feature far less content and replay value. Resident Evil: Revelations is one of the first games specifically designed for a handheld which offers a console-like experience in terms of graphical fidelity, production values and wealth of content on offer. It’s easy to get sucked into Revelations thanks to its atmospheric environments and compelling gameplay and at the height of your immersion you completely forget that you’re playing a portable title.

When EA and Starbreeze Studios confirmed that a ‘re-invented’ first-person iteration of Syndicate was in the works, nostalgic gamers the world over immediately decried the publisher/developer pair’s lack of reverence for the original, classic cyberpunk strategy game series.
As the months went on, however, and more information, screenshots and videos came to light, gamers were slowly won over by the new vision for the franchise, while the recently released demo put a nail in the coffin of any doubts we may have had about the game’s additional four-player co-operative mode.
Syndicate is due for release in South Africa on February 24th across Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, and EA South Africa and El33tonline are giving you all a chance to win a copy of the tactical first-person action game on all platforms, and to stand in line to win we’re giving you a task worthy of an agent! Well… a rookie agent.
Head on over to El33tonline’s Syndicate Competition page to accept your task - you might soon be filling the technology-imbued boots of an agent in Syndicate.
